Cry Free - Deep Purple's Favourite Tribute
Soon after the sensational series of concerts with Deep Purple founding member Jon Lord, Cry Free were invited to join another British rock icon, Nazareth, on stage. This was the second time the Hungarian DP tribute warmed up for the Scottish veterans, as in 2004 they had already rocked the house together in one of Hungary's biggest concert halls. This time the promoters chose a slightly smaller venue, which resulted in a complete full house and a great show with a superb atmosphere. After the concert Nazareth bass player Pete Agnew told Cry Free that during their set he called up his bassist colleague and good friend Roger Glover of Deep Purple holding his mobile phone towards the stage to present him a little bit of the Hungarian cover version of the Purple songs. The afterparty provided a good opportunity for the members of the two bands to unwind drinking and chatting together. And as you can see, there was a photo shoot featuring the two bands again, just like five years ago.
