Attila as Nasty Habits frontman on European tour with Nick Simper10 September 2016, 02:00
The three-stop tour took off in Vienna's cult club Reigen last Saturday, where Attila Scholtz was to make his first appearance in front of the hardcore fans of Nasty Habits, who were playing on home ground. The anticipation grew high after the band had announced that Attila, who had so far only stood in for Austrian vocalist Chris Schmid in his absence, was now about to take the stage as official member of Nasty Habits. After the show the band and the "new" frontman enjoyed a chance to celebrate the entirely positive reception from the audience.
The next day the tour bus set off early in order to get the English rock legend and his Austrian-Hungarian band across three countries and 550 kilometres to Kielce, Poland in time for their performance at the Rockuja festival. Simper and co. along with other headliners Focus (NL) filled up the auditorium of the Cultural Centre (with a capacity of about 1000 people) almost completely. By the end of the Nasty Habits set the fans had become one large cheering crowd demanding a total of four encores.
After the gig Nick and his band met the representatives of the Polish Deep Purple Fan Club, and Attila was also introduced to organisers of the Jon Lord Memorial concert series, with whom he discussed possibilities of future collaborations.
The closing event of the tour will take place this Saturday, i.e. on 10 September at the Fellstock festival in Steinfield, where Nick Simper & Nasty Habits will appear as headliners again.
