Cry Free to tour Germany with a new bass player17 October 2013, 23:04
First of all, it's a completely new region, as the Hungarian rockers have mainly concentrated on the south of the country so far, whereas the autumn venues are much higher up on the map.
It's also the first time the band tours Germany as guests of another act. They were invited by American singer/songwriter/guitarist Lord Bishop to play his "Rock Circus" festival in Dresden, where every year he features a few of the world's top tribute bands, some local talents, and his very own blues-funk-rock act Lord Bishop Rocks. Later on Bishop decided to also add Cry Free to the bill on some more of his tour dates.

Oct. 31 - Alt Werdohl, Werdohl
Nov. 1 - Live Club Ahorn, Rheinbach
Nov. 2 - Rosi's Pub, Dresden
The third difference is that long-time Cry Free member Csaba Kecskeméti, who had been with the band throughout all their tours of Germany since 2001, decided to quit recently, and was replaced by Csaba "Totya" Tóth (see photo), who is not new to the German scene either. It was him back in 2003, who came to the rescue when the band was in need of a bass player to stand in for Kecskeméti on their 2nd German tour, and helped the band out on their gigs in Heilbronn and Stuttgart.
Totya is an established artist in his native Hungary, frequently performing with the cream of the Hungarian blues-rock scene. Ten years after his first visit to Germany with the band he will now debut as the official bass player of Cry Free. Ex-bassist Csaba Kecskeméti also plans to continue his musical career, and the band wish him all the best for the future, and thank him for all the work of the past, remembering the countless nights of fun together.
