Cry Free - Deep Purple's Favourite Tribute
On 20 September 2013 Cry Free performed a "Come Hell Or High Water" tribute concert at Hungary's biggest rock venue "Club 202". For a long time the band had been planning to pay homage to this historical era of 1993 Deep Purple landmarked by The Battle Rages On album and the follow-up tour which was recorded to later become "Come Hell Or High Water" issued as both audio and video material. The 20th anniversary gave a good chance for Cry Free to fulfil this long-awaited plan and commemorate the last ever Deep Purple tour featuring the emblematic pair of Jon Lord and Ritchie Blackmore. The band performed the original set list in its entirety according to the original video/DVD tracklist.

A 4-cam video recording was made which will appear here on the site as soon as the editing has been finished. Till then here's a little appetizer in the shape of two single cam videos from the same angle giving you an insight into the end of show atmosphere. The original "Come Hell" closer "Smoke On The Water" was performed in a spontaneous fun line-up featuring Károly Lőrincz of support act Asphalt Horsemen on lead vocals and CF singer Attila Scholtz on bass & vocals.

The last piece of the encore set was a stormy version of Fireball, which you can also check out here.

Watch this space for the full 4-cam version of this unique Cry Free show to be added soon. Till then you can also see a set of photos here.
