"Now What?!" - the Cry Free premiere of the new Purple record14 June 2013, 16:45

Cry Free - Deep Purple's Favourite Tribute
The wait is over. After 8 long years our favourite rock band has finally released a new album. And not only is it new, but super strong as well! Just when we had started wondering if there would ever be a new Deep Purple record again, they came up with this amazing collection of exciting, experimental, progressive, and colourful songs. It is no question therefore that some of the new material will end up in the Cry Free repertoire. What's more, the process has already started.

The Hungarian Deep Purple Cover Band has a long history of always taking great pride in being as up-to-date representing DP as possible. Although the majority of the repertoire is from the 1970's of course, based around eras like those of "Made In Japan" and "California Jam", the Hungarians have always hurried to cover anything new written by the Purps. In 1996, when Cry Free was formed, the band immediately included in their live set "Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming", the then current DP single, and performed it already in their very first gig. When the 2002 Purple record "Bananas" came out, Cry Free covered 5 tracks off it altogether, which means about half of the material. Three years later, when "Rapture Of The Deep" came out, the Hungarian band presented some of its songs live on stage on the actual date of release!

Conventions are not to be broken, so the band has been very fast again responding to the new Purple material. They started out by covering the highly successful first DP single from the new LP "Now What?!" titled All The Time In The World within a few days of release, and they have already performed it about half a dozen times in and around their homeland since then. The Hungarian musicians are currently working on several other new DP tracks of the more progressive kind, and they will celebrate the release of the album in a huge "Now What?!" premiere show at Pecsa Cafe Budapest on 21 June, 2013.
