Jon Douglas Lord was born on 9 June 1941, so he would turn 72 today, had he not lost his brave battle tragically against pancreatic cancer last July. This sadly means that although a year ago our dear friend and hero Jon Lord had the chance to celebrate his 71st birthday, today he is not around to celebrate with us. However, we would never forget about him on his birthday, and to remember him today, here's the very song that best summerizes both his life and his life-work, "Pictured Within" (words & music: Jon Lord).
