To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the song "Smoke On The Water" and the album "Machine Head" by Deep Purple as well as the 15th anniversary of the album "Queen Rocks" by Queen, two established Hungarian cover bands, Cry Free and Queen Rocks are teaming up to create a special night at NED Club in Montreux, Switzerland this Saturday, 10 November 2012. The three-hour-plus tribute programme focuses on the early and most successful era of the original bands, Deep Purple and Queen, who are both strongly related to the city of Montreux. Queen Rocks are to open the double-header at 8.30pm with their most rocking set, and Cry Free are to follow with their special "Machine Head 40" show dedicated to the city which inspired Deep Purple's musicians to write the legendary album and its trademark track "Smoke On The Water" 40 years ago. The event is also a tribute to two late and great artists, Jon Lord (who sadly passed away recently) and Freddie Mercury (who we still miss badly, two decades after his death).

...some Queen fans in Hungary founded a band to pay tribute to their idols and called it Queen Unplugged Project. They created a very special acoustic Queen show and during the last few years they have had the chance to play in front of thousands of Queen fans in several European countries, including Montreux on two occasions at the Freddie Mercury’s Memorial Day…
...and now...
...with the same enthusiasm the "acoustic boys" have picked up their electric instruments, and have come up with a new show called QUEEN ROCKS! The hardest rock songs of Queen in their pure and powerful roughness...aaand...VERY VERY LOUD! The motto is taken from early Queen: "we don't use synthesizers"!
...and they have joined Cry Free who they already rocked with in another show earlier this year (see video below) and who have a good cause to travel to Montreux with them.
